Rare Corgi Colors and Signs of Bonding with Their Owner

Among Pembroke Welsh Corgis, those with a black back are generally considered rarer and therefore often come with a higher price tag. This scarcity is a key factor influencing their value.

The black-backed Corgi's rarity is indeed what makes it more expensive than the more common red or fawn varieties. It's a classic case of supply and demand; with fewer black-backed Corgis available, the price naturally increases. Many also perceive the black-backed variety as having a more striking appearance, often described as 'cooler' and equally adorable, which further drives up its desirability and, consequently, the price. There is also the perception that black-backed corgis might be slightly more intelligent than their fawn counterparts contributing to their higher value.

Signs That Your Corgi Has Bonded With You

1. A Corgi that has bonded with its owner will remember the way home and return there after exploring, especially in the evening. This shows they understand where their home and family are.

2. A dog that stops barking excessively at its owner is a sign of trust. Excessive barking is often a dog's way of asserting dominance or protecting itself, so when this decreases, it demonstrates their feeling of safety with you.

3. Even naturally boisterous or assertive dogs will show a softer side to their bonded owners. This is demonstrated in many breeds, including notoriously large dogs, like the Mastiff. If your Corgi is behaving docile and sweet with you, that's a great sign.

4. Younger dogs may initially follow you out of the door, but a well-bonded Corgi will understand that you'll return, and they will trust you. They show their love and devotion by wanting to be close to their owner and by being affectionate. Don't be annoyed by this clingy behavior, it's simply a sign of their affection and love for you.Exclusive offer:Pet Breeds
