Can You Own a Belgian Malinois in Jiaxing? And How Much Does One Cost?
It's generally not permissible to privately keep a Belgian Malinois in Jiaxing. This is because Belgian Malinois are classified as large, powerful breeds with a potential for aggression. While they are known for their trainability and loyalty to their owners, making them excellent working dogs, they are not considered suitable pets for densely populated urban areas.

The primary reason Belgian Malinois are often banned in cities like Jiaxing is their status as large, potentially dangerous dogs with a strong bite force. A well-trained Malinois will obey its owner, but can be very bold and aggressive towards strangers. They also possess a strong territorial instinct and will react aggressively to perceived intrusions. This is why many cities have regulations against owning them. While their loyalty, intelligence, and trainability are well-documented, making them great military and police dogs, they are not necessarily the ideal family pet.
Belgian Malinois Price Range
The price of a Belgian Malinois varies significantly in the market. Non-pedigree Malinois are typically less expensive, ranging from around 1000 to 1500 RMB, often purchased for guarding purposes.
Purebred Belgian Malinois, known for their higher intelligence, work ethic, and loyalty, command a higher price, usually between 1500 and 2500 RMB.
Malinois with recognized bloodlines are even more expensive. High-quality, purebred Malinois with excellent lineage can cost upwards of 3000 RMB. Top-tier, exceptionally bred dogs may even reach prices in the tens of thousands of RMB. Actual costs are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location and the dog's specific characteristics and breed quality.
